Summer fun; play date!

My friend Cassie invited us over a couple weeks ago for a playdate. Cassie and I go back a few years, where we were in the same women's Bible study. Fast forward up until a few months ago, where we reunited by volunteering at our school. Her daughter Lizzy and my Jakey have become fast friends in preschool, and with them starting Kinder together in a few weeks, we wanted to get them together for a playdate. Plus, Cassie happens to live in the same neighborhood as I do, so we headed to the local park to burn off some kiddos energy :)

Seriously cute friends... here's hoping that their respective love of princesses and superheroes don't get in the way of friendship :)

Impromtu playdate

We had no plans yesterday so I called up my best girlfriends and invited them over. We hung outside in the pool and sand, played indoors in the toystore, and had a nice lunch. Here are some of the pictures, although somehow Avi and Max missed the boy/girl group pics :(

And lunch!

Thanks Jamie, Mandy and Sarah for coming over to hang with us. We love you guys :)

Little Learners Club does the Fire Station!

Last time we did bubbles, but this past week we went to the Fire Station! Our friend Jen was nice enough to plan a field trip at the Fire Station where she works, so we went and had a tour.

The kiddos got sit on the fire engines and ambulances,

"drive" the fire engines,

check out the equipment room, full of uniforms, hats and boots,

and play 'til their little hearts were content :)

We had a really great time checking out the Station. Thanks for the tour Jen :)

Playdate!

We went to our friends Iva, Sophie and Nicholas' house today, which is like a mini Disneyland for my kids. Iva's house is filled with fun, new exciting toys, including dollhouses, monster trucks, musical instruments, books we don't have, and lots of puzzles. And the backyard? It's even more fun! There are all kinds of outdoor toys; a swing set, slides, scooters, kiddie bikes, tunnels to climb in, bubbles, balls, etc. And when the kids aren't playing? They're eating and drinking from the vast array of snacks/juices Iva sets out. Seriously,we have so much fun playing over there.

The problem is, the minute we step foot in the front door, the train table in their living room SCREAMS their names and Lauren and Jake are glued to that thing. It's like train crack for toddlers I guess.

After asking if they wanted to go outside and enjoy the fresh air 1,000 times, they finally agreed. And I'm so glad we did because the weather was beautiful and I got to talk to some friends. Plus, we played 'ring around the rosie' and some other games, so they burnt off some toddler steam! Yay for that!

And now? All I hear is the snoozing of sleepy, worn out kids. I love me some playdates :)

Too much playing!

We have had a great week, which is one of the reasons why I haven't blogged much lately. Between the park, library, school and spending time in this AWESOME weather, I haven't wanted to get on the computer much (as well as when the Hubster's home). Instead, I've had time to sit back and just enjoy my Brownies, which is exactly what I've done all week long. But knowing our family, they're likely having Lauren and Jacob withdrawals, so I'll post a couple pics from a play date this week ;)

Here's Lauren playing princess'...

Oh and here's Lauren and Gracie "sleeping"... waiting for their Prince Charming to come...

WAIT! I see him...

in a TUTU! Nothin' says Prince Charming like a guy dressed as a fairy ;)

Bumper Bowling 2010!

The kiddos and I went bowling again yesterday with our Mom's Group friends. It's crazy to think that the last time we went, it was Jacob's Birthday AND he wasn't even walking yet. Today? That boy was ALL over the place, pushing balls down the lane, giggling while chasing his sister down the hall, and getting into everything he could (read: a friend's french fries!).

With 8 of us moms there, we took TONS of pictures. As such, I'm only going to include the one's with my Brownies since you're most likely not here to see the balls rolling down the lane or kids congregating in packs to hoard each others snacks :)

Without further ado...

Um yeah, a HUGE difference, eh?
