Slime!

I like doing "esperiments" with the kids because I love seeing their reactions when a new creations are made. So today we made slime and it was pretty cool!

Supplies:
•Elmer's glue (most kinds of white craft glue will work)
•2 disposable cups
•Food coloring
•Water
•Borax Powder
•A plastic spoon (for stirring)
•A tablespoon (for measuring)

Directions:
1.Fill one small cup with water and add a spoonful of the Borax powder and stir it up. Then set it aside.
2.Fill the other small cup with about 1 inch of the glue.
3.Add three tablespoons of water to the glue and stir.
4.Add a few drops of the food coloring and stir it up until mixed.
5.Now the fun part...Add one tablespoons of the Borax solution you made earlier and stir well. Watch the slime form!
6.After the slime forms let it sit for about 30 seconds and then pull it off the spoon and play with it!

Tip: Keep your slime in a tightly closed plastic bag when you are not playing with it, and keep it away from carpet and your baby sister's hair.

LLC; Police Day!

Our latest Little Learners Club was all about the Police so of course, I HAD to bring these:

Because really... what's a cop without his doughnuts?!? :)

As everyone was getting settled in, Mandy ushered us into the garage where her husband Officer Moler, pulled up on his motorcycle and a fellow officer pulled up in his squad car. There were lights and sounds and the kids were super excited!!

The kiddos even got to sit on the bike (Lauren was unsure of doing it, and Jake wouldn't even go near it, haha), climb into the back of the patrol car, and talk on the loud speaker if they wanted!

Then we went inside to do some projects. They colored a '911 safety' coloring page, while some of us moms explained when it is and isn't appropriate to call 911 (like, 'my white b is lost'... not an emergency :))

We also made bracelets with our cell phone numbers on them, so if our children ever get lost, all they have to do is point to their bracelet for someone to notify us.

And then of cousre, we ate because what's a LLC without food??

Really though, it was fun and a great learning experience for our little ones! Thanks again Mandy and your man for hosting and planning this one :)

2011 beach Trip

Warning: picture heavy post (and I posted half the pictures I took)!

This was one of the things we wanted to do on our summer list, but in all honesty, we go to the beach every summer (this was last year- I can't get over how much they've grown!!). This time though, we stayed at a hotel in San Clemente with some of our good friends.

We got there a bit early the first day and our room wasn't ready yet, so we all hopped in the pool. The kiddos swam with dad, floated with mom, and jumped with Tereneh :)

Miss Meg enjoyed her self some sun and smiles :)

After playing in the pool for a few hours, Megan was DONE, so I took her up to the room for a little catnap:

By this time, the big kids were through swimming, so we brought our luggage up the rooms, and then went on a walk.

The highlight of the day; riding on the luggage carts!
 We checked out the sights,

and even visited a few fancy-schmancy shops that my girl and I loved!

We eventually found ourselves at a nearby restaurant, but there were no pictures because us adults were trying to control the chaos of 5 overstimulated little kiddos. Whew!

We eventually went back up to our rooms and got the kids asleep. (Can I hear a Hallelujah?!?)

Jake and Lauren made themselves a comfy nest, and when they were out, Justin and I left Tereneh in charge and we went down to the spa :)

The next morning, my kids were up at 5 am. There's not much to do that early in the morning, so we hit the continental breakfast, and then came back up for a noodle fight :)

Then we got ready for the beach!

Buried alive!
It was a SUPER fun trip! Not necessarily relaxing with our three, but fun and exciting nonetheless :)

Summer Fun; Outdoor fun

We hung out at Mandy's house a couple days ago, and completed another activity on our summer list!

While the kiddos played in the water,

my sweet baby hung out with her toys :)

Then they painted a masterpiece,

followed by their own body art:

After being silly and wiggling in the sprinklers,

Mandy brought out the colored shaving cream:

and someone had a blast with this:

Soon it was time to head home, so we let Miss Millie and Miss Meg play for bit,

while the big kids made up their own games. (Any guesses who made up the rules to these games?!?)

Thanks girls for inviting us over :)
