Bubble girl

It's 10:25 pm right now and Justin decided that he had to go look at a set of rims his friend is selling... yes, at 10:25 pm. So I'm using this time to upload some recent pics. I took a picture of Annie a few days ago in her infant car seat because she has a new fascination with blowing bubbles. Every time I turn around, she is blowing them bigger and bigger.

So I upload this pic of her blowing bubbles:
And this full body length one:
which then totally bummed me out because I realized she once looked like this:

I mean, I know everyone says "they grow up so fast" but c'mon! My little girl isn't so little anymore :( I know I should be thankful that she's growing up healthy and strong but part of me wants to stunt her growth and keep her this age forever :(

Poor Justin...

had no idea what he was getting into when we had a baby girl!

Here are just a couple pics of her closet:

and this doesn't even include the dresser full of onesies, socks, pants, tights, etc! Here are a few stuffed animals, along with a baby bikini (for Grammy pool parties!):

and then a couple pairs of her cute lil' shoes, headbands, hats, sunglasses, dolls, etc...

Justin tries not to go in her room... and that's a good thing because he'd likely have a heart attack if he saw how much pink and purple filled her closets and drawers :)

Gotta love havin' a girl!

The start of something new...

I've never blogged before. This is all really new to me. But I think this blogging thing will be therapeutic. Not that anything is wrong or that I'm in need of therapy (okay, maybe slightly), but this will allow me to document our days and share our lives with our long-distance family... an outlet, if you will.

So, today's the beginning and here I sit behind the computer screen with my sidekick in tow:

But minutes later, she's in a different position because Her Highness demands that I move her every 15 second or less (maybe 30 if I'm lucky). She really digs the whole "constant attention" thing.

And if I attempt to make silly faces, she'll give you one of these:

which makes it completely worth it.

Before I was a mom...

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom
