First bottle

Justin has been wanting to bond and feed his baby girl for a few weeks now so I bit the bullet and pumped (turns out, you become quite a spectacle to your 2 and 4 year old children while pumping!) I felt like a science experiment cow. Anyway, Miss Meg did eventually take the bottle, but she's not a huge fan. So I snapped as many pics as I could, documenting what is sure to be a rare occurrence ;)

Milk dye "esperiment"

I found this idea on an craft website a while back and I decided to do it with the kids today. Besides just being a "fun esperiment", it was a cool way to introduce the kids to science. Anyway, here's whatcha do: 1) Get some milk (whole milk works best but I only had low fat and it still worked awesome). 2) Pour the milk into a shallow dish: 3) Add a few drops of food coloring (I also added oil to show the kids how oil and milk don't mix but you can omit the oil): 4) Dip a Q tip in some dish soap 5) Dip your soapy cotton swab into the food dye or into the oil and watch as the colors swirl: Pretty neat crafty activity :)

Cooing and smiling

One of my favorite milestones is being reached.... my baby girl has started to smile and coo at us! I love this stage!

Totally makes up for her lack of napping during the day... kind of ;)

Apples and oranges

The kiddos and I made this craft a few days ago after I saw it on my girlfriend Melissa's blog (thanks friend!)

It was super simple but the kids enjoyed making apples and oranges. The ripped up some construction paper, glued it on a plate and then used a hole punch and brown raffia to make the stem :)

And yes, that's my girl in her bikini. It's March and like 50 degrees here but she insists on wearing it. So I cranked up the heat :)

Lauren's Hello Kitty! Birthday party

Our now 4 year old Birthday girl had a great time at her party last weekend :) She and all of her friends (and even grown up family members!) jumped and played on the bounce house, before coming inside to eat and play. Here Lauren, Grace and Maddie are having a "gurl party"... before pesky little dragon brother crashed the party ;) After some chatting and lunch (sandwiches, chips, fruit salad (thanks mom!), pasta salad (thanks Sarah!) and drinks), the kiddos attacked the pinata. It was a hit and there was plenty of candy to go around! Although, my crazy Birthday girl snatched up the "Nature's Candy", aka raisin boxes. Haha! After Rodney smashed the pinata to pieces (we had to have an adult do it since the toddlers and preschoolers weren't cuttin' it!), we ate some cake. My friends Teresa and Elsie made these Hello Kitty! cake and cupcakes, and they came out beautiful (and tasted fantastic!) They did a great job. Thanks so much :) By this point it was afternoon and the kids were crashing because it was nap time. So we said goodbye to our friends and then opened presents with family and 'grown up' friends: And let me tell you, based on the awesome gifts she received, this is one very loved little girl! But with a face like this: how can you not love her?!? :)
