One of the reasons renting isn't so bad...

Not sure if you remember but I'm not a huge fan of renting and it has taken some time adjusting to this new house. I would much rather we own our own house where we can paint, decorate as we see fit, and do some landscaping to make it our own. But God had other plans for us, so here we are in preparation for our move to Texas.

But I'm all about seeing the silver lining and thankfully, God opened my eyes to this once again. This backyard we have here? It's the greatest thing in the world according to my kids. They love it. LOVE it. They sometimes spend hours, yes hours, 'investigating' the flowers, the bugs, the leaf piles, the mud, the fruit trees, and wood pile, etc... It's kind of like rural living without the dreaded horses, according to my husband ;)

So today we enjoyed our backyard, leaves, dirt, bugs and all. The kids excitedly got on their swim suits and got down to mud making. They were absolutely filthy by the time they were through, but they had so, so much fun getting messy. And it didn't cost me a dime. Just a bath afterwards and they were good as new ;)

We are making the best of this place God has called us... mud and all :)
