Sushi and subs

Have I ever mentioned how much I love sushi? Cause I do. And so do my girls. They are California Roll eatin' machines!

But Justin and Jakey? Not a chance.

So when Yeo asked to go to Sushi a few days ago, he was met with mixed reactions. I said 'yes!', Justin said 'ugh'.

But being the sweetie he is, Justin agreed. But instead of sushi, he and Jake got Subway.

Note the chopsticks:

Haha!

The waiter thought the chopsticks with the sandwich was a little odd. But the kids thought it was hysterical. Leave it to their daddy to elicit giggles from all three :)

End of year awards ceremony

(Warning: extreme bragging alert!)

We have had an amazing school year with teachers that have not only taught and trained my children, but teachers who have became great friends! Have I mentioned how much I love our school? :)

Lauren excelled in First grade and Jacob thrived in Kindergarten. They both loved going to school, and it was the best year we've had thus far.

Days before the last day of school, I was contacted by both teachers, letting me know both kiddos were chosen for the GOAL award (Godliness, Obedience, Academic excellence and Leadership). Only 4 children were chosen from each class, and these kids were awarded for being outstanding the entire year in one of these areas).

Jake was awarded the Leadership award because as Mrs. Cooper said, he does the right thing even when it's hard to do and loves the Lord so much, which he shares with friends and shows in action:

Lauren was awarded the Godliness award, for always doing what's honoring and pleasing to God. She is an example to her classmates, and Mrs. Foster went on and on about her achievements :)

The next day, we went to Yeo's year end award ceremony and this boy cleaned house! He got a total of 13 awards(!!), ranging from leadership to academic excellence (he has over a 5.0 GPA, ranking him top 3 in his class).

Our school is small, but we have very high standards in academics and Godly character training. All that to say, earning these awards were no easy feat. They 'beat' out many classmates, and I cannot say enough how proud I am of these kids. They are intelligent, hard working and they love the Lord (well, we're still working on the hard-headed teenage one :))

Way to go Brown kids... I can't wait to see who you become in the next year. I am so proud of you three!

Trampoline overload!

A girlfriend told me about a place called SkyTown in Redlands. And HOLY COW! It was the most active, fun, energetic two hours we've spent in a long time. Think trampolines everywhere, a rock climbing wall, a trampoline dodgeball court, trampoline basketball lanes, a jousting pit (where Justin and myself jousted- Justin won!, Justin and Yeo jousted- Yeo won!, and Lauren and Jake jousted- they both won at different times!... SO fun!)

I'll just let the pictures do this post justice:

It's definitely somewhere we'll go again. It wasn't cheap for all 6 of us to go, but it was a special treat and it was a night full of family bonding. And those kind of nights are priceless :)
