The nesting instinct kicked in today. I am exhausted. The cabinets were cleaned out, the drawers to all dressers were emptied and the Ajax and Comet got a lot of use today, cleaning and sanitizing 99% of the surfaces in our home. And let me tell ya, that's no easy task when your stomach protrudes 5 feet out in front of you and your belly button threatens to poke someone's eyes out.
Ya see, there's two reasons why this happened. First, one of Justin's employees' wives gave birth today. And I told myself that when she gave birth, that was the point where I would allow myself to freak out, as she wasn't much further along than I am. Secondly, it's May, which officially means that baby Brownie boy will be here next month. Next month! So these two factors instigated the nesting and my once messy closets, cabinets and drawers are neatly organized and waiting for the Toddler Tornado named Lauren to blow into town.
As my sista-from-another-mista friend Sarah pointed out, baby Jacob won't care that the inside of my cabinets are clean. And neither will anyone else for that matter. So as not to induce labor, she recommend that I stop being so freakishly compulsive and relax a bit. And as determined as I was to clean every single speck of space in this house, whether my achy knees and bulging belly protested or not, I took her advice and did nothing for the rest of the day (wink, wink!).
As I'm vigorously, err calmly, cleaning my sink and the Princess Diddle is napping, I hear something in the kitchen. The dogs playing I assumed, so back to cleaning I went. Fifteen minutes go by and I hear what sounds like chewing and frantic licking. Huh. So I waddle my way into the living room and am greeted by this:
Great, the dogs got into something. I'm praying that it wasn't some expensive elixir and that whatever it was, they only opened the can. Aha! The dumb-dumbs opened the Comet or Ajax! I'm a little relieved at this point because both chemicals probably taste like crapola and surely they decided against eating any. So I breathe a sigh of relief, turn around and find this:
Fan-freakin-tastic.... it wasn't Comet or Ajax. It was an entire container of Formula, now drenched in dog slobber. See that yellow spot in the picture? That's clumpy, hardened formula, which occurs when the powder gets wet. So the entire container is now trash and I am steaming because formula isn't cheap and my husband is.
So then it's off to find the culprit and I didn't have to look far. Besides the look of utter guilt in his eyes and the fact that he smelled of formula, Quin's muzzle said it all:
And I'm not positive that he enlisted the help of his partner in crime, but based on his guilty mug, I'd say Buster partook of some powdery goodness as well:
I swear... if they didn't have such smashed up, adorable faces and entire hiney's that wiggled with excitement, I would have thrown the rest of the formula on them and stuck them outside for years. To say that they are rotten, destructive, ill-behaved dogs is an understatement. They are holy terrors. They strive to annoy the heck outta me and seek to destroy as many household objects as they can get their grubby lil' paws on.
Sooooooo, any suckers in the market for two flat-faced, bulgy-eyed dogs that have expensive taste and destructive personalities??? If so, you know where to find us ;)

Thrusday
After having a pretty busy day yesterday, Naners, her daddy and I spent most of the evening relaxing and just hanging out together. We made a little dinner, went to Coldstone and got the usual, went through the car wash and then came home. Miss Annie Banani enjoyed her swing a little bit, which is quickly becoming the end of an era because she is learning how to propel herself outta the swing. Fabulous. And that's while she's still strapped in!

I have found though that giving her something to play with, like her teddy bear, keeps her nimble fingers busy and her mind off of the propelling task at hand. And as evidenced in this picture, she loves all things cuddly and soft. She is such a sweet little smiling girl.
While I gave the baby a bath and got her ready for bed, Justin went outside and worked on the POS (read: race car!) for a little while. Within 15 minutes, he came in looking like this:

How that man can get that filthy in minutes amazes me! It's a good thing he married a woman who *tolerates* the smell of all things boy...grease, brake fluid, farting, burping, exhaust fumes, etc... I think my nose has become immune to all of the toxic fumes he bring in (or lets out for that matter!)
And the final news of the day is that the whole "Lumpus" clan (they were called Hoodlums, which turned into Lumps...hence, "Lumpus"...I know, crazy!) is back together! Sammie, Casey, Quentin and Ellie are all here at my house. As difficult as it is with 3 large dogs (and a very busy little Boston), I LOVE having them all here. The wrestling, boxing, playing, and tug-of-waring is so nice to have again. My mom is in the hospital having surgery today and she will be recovering for a few weeks so I get to have 2 of my dogs back home with me while she convalesces. Yay! Sure, the dog hair is a little outta control and the vacuum is begging for mercy, but I love having the whole group back together...at least for a little while :)

Naners and I go to my Moms Club get together tomorrow morning at a local restaurant. It should be a alot of fun and I am really looking forward to it! But with a pile of laundry stacking up and nothing presentable to wear outta the house, I have to stop blogging right now. Otherwise, I'll end up attending in my Birfday suit and that, post baby, isn't so pleasant!

Tuesday
No matter how often or short I trim Annie's little finger nails, those suckers grow back SO quickly! And not only do they grow super fast, they are sharp little daggers! So a few days ago I woke up and found Annie with a rather large scrape on her face :( Sure enough, the finger nails that I had just trimmed 4 freakin' days ago were long again and she had managed to cut her little face open in the middle of the night (you can see the scratch next to her eye in the picture below). Her first owie! So, like any first, I took a picture. And because Miss Go-Go-Go! can't sit still, I sat her down in front of the computer screen that had her face on it, and viola-she sat still!
Anyways, Naners and I took our little hiney's (okay, mine isn't so little) shopping today. Yep, even with our budget in place, I managed to go shopping 'cause it's one of my favorite hobbies! There is a little local store nearby that sells gently used (and new!) baby clothes and accessories. If you look hard enough, you can find lots of great pieces for cheap! Today Naners and I got an Old Navy pink vintage skirt, an Osh Kosh shirt, a Gymboree pants and shirt set, a pair of pink Cords, and the cutest pair of Gingerbread Gymber jeans I have ever seen (they are size 6-9 months which will fit perfectly during Christmas time!) We also got a few onesies in colors that are hard to come by (sherbert orange, teal, and a mint green color to match shorts and pants she has). All in all, we spent $7-the Osh Kosh skirt would have cost more than that! Sure, she didn't need anymore clothes but for 7 bucks you can't go wrong. Right?!?!

So after shopping our hearts out, we came home to find this:

Good ole Quentin! The dog LOVES diapers...he spends his days in search of diapers and other baby gear that he can shred to bits (i.e, pacifiers!). He got into the trash and completely decorated the floors. Niiiice, Luckily the house needed to be vacuumed anyways..brat dog ;)
