Bye bye blog!

It's been almost 7 years since I started this blog. Seven years of snapping photos, editing pictures, and writing, writing, writing. I had a great time in the beginning. I had a great time for the past 5 years or so...

But it has since become something that I dread because life has just gotten in the way! :) With three little kiddos and a teenager who are all busy people, I have discovered that I sometimes miss out on the right now, because I am worried about what the pictures will look like and how to blog about it. Sounds silly and petty, but it's happened a time (or ten!). And I don't want to miss a thing while my husband is home and my kiddos are young and impressionable... I want to savor it all. Which is why I don't do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs, etc... I want to live in the moment, not live to post about it.

Anyway, lots going on and I simply don't want to spend my time recording in front of a screen. I want to fill every precious moment of this life loving my God, my man and babies, and taking care of myself physically so that I can be around as long as possible. Of course, we will still be doing fun things; crafting, baking, home improving, playing, loving but it won't be shared on the blog anymore. .. it will be portrayed in day to day life. And I'm excited about it!

Thanks for understanding :)

xoxo- Shelly

Sushi and subs

Have I ever mentioned how much I love sushi? Cause I do. And so do my girls. They are California Roll eatin' machines!

But Justin and Jakey? Not a chance.

So when Yeo asked to go to Sushi a few days ago, he was met with mixed reactions. I said 'yes!', Justin said 'ugh'.

But being the sweetie he is, Justin agreed. But instead of sushi, he and Jake got Subway.

Note the chopsticks:

Haha!

The waiter thought the chopsticks with the sandwich was a little odd. But the kids thought it was hysterical. Leave it to their daddy to elicit giggles from all three :)

Summer fun; Bowling!

Gotta love "neon glow bowling" for the experience :)

Yay, almost all of us adults got strikes!

My kids love bowling and we don't go often enough. This is definitely going to be something we do angin this summer because it kept not only my kiddos, but our friends kids entertained for almost 3 hours! Yay for fun summer events!

Chicago 2014

My husband had a business conference to go to in Chicago, and I was the lucky gal that got to go with him :)

So we made a mini vacation of out of it and stayed for 4 days in the suburbs and city... just the two of us. It was fantastic!

We ate at the fanciest restaurant I've ever been to on the 64th floor overlooking downtown Chicago. It was breathtaking!

This was my dinner.. 'ink dyed' fettuccine with shrimp and scallops'.... it was scary looking but tasted yummy!

We had a hot tub in our room... not even in the bathroom! It was next to our bed and right across from the TV. When we weren't out exploring Chicago, I enjoyed lots of shows and books in that bad boy!

The traffic was insane!

The architecture was beautiful and so ornate!

We ate at a very loved little pizzeria, and got to people watch as we sat at a table next to this open door. We had a deep dish Chicago pizza and lemme tell ya, it was delish!

We did the tourist thing and checked out lots of interesting places:

We had a great time and can't wait til our next little vacation to Florida in October. I love being being with my man. Super big thanks to my mom for taking such great care of our kiddos that they didn't want to come home when we picked them up :)
